I’ve thought and thought and thought… until I felt like The Grinch, pondering until my ponderer wore out…

What is Valentine’s Day?

Blog-Valentine-2013

A day to share our hearts with our loved ones? Oh, wait, can’t give you a hug today, hun, gotta wait until Valentine’s Day…?

St. Valentine was a MAN, of that we are sure…ish. He was a Catholic priest, martyred in Rome in ‘maybe?’ the third century. (This is the one generally considered to be St. Valentine.) However… there were two others, (According to this Catholic Encyclopaedia). Not much is known of one (served in Africa) and the other wasn’t a priest IN Rome.

But that is NOT what I want to bloggle ya with.

I want to ask you, “Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day?” Do you celebrate it ON February fourteenth, or, do you wait until a convenient evening/day around the fourteenth? (Ie: This year it is on Thursday, will you wait until Friday or Saturday?)

Do you include your children? Your parents? Your friends? Your pets? Your extended family?

Do you try and do something romantic with your significant other?

Is it a day of romance? Happy memories?

Or of love? Your pet; your friends; your…?

Or of painful reminders? Bitter disappointments?

Will you spend money you’ve scraped and saved?

Or will you whip out that nearly paid off credit card?

(Or will you be all corny and romantic and present a handmade craft?) Smile with tongue out

Will you go traditional, flowers, candy, dinner, wine? Or something off the wall; heli-picnic; trip to Paris; base-jumping hand-in-hand?

It’s strange that we have just left a season of time filled with (supposed) joy, happiness and love and now we enter a day reserved again, just for that purpose. And not even recognised as a stat-holiday, either! Sad smile

We’ve already been given the greatest love gift of all. EVERY single one of us. We just have to have faith, take hold and unwrap it.

John-3-16

The ultimate gift. The ultimate love. Don’t let it sit in the box on the shelf; open it, enjoy it, SHARE IT!

I have a sneaky suspicion that if I don’t write this, I am never going to have any peace.

I am a Christian. Not a very ‘good’ one. (By that I mean… I make mistakes…sometimes pretty big ones…)

What is YOUR definition of a Christian?

Mine is someone who believes in the TRINITY of Christ. Believes that Christ was born, of a virgin, died and was resurrected on the third day and was drawn to Heaven after being seen, arisen, by thousands, and now resides at the Father’s right hand. Whew! That’s a lot to trust in.

HE WAS SEEN… doesn’t that mean ANYTHING to non-believers? Okay…wait, I’m getting ahead of myself.

Now, believing in that is step one. (In my eyes, yours may see something different, we’re probably both right.) Without believing that (step one), step two, and so on, is a huge colossal waste of time, so, if you don’t hold to step one, you are going to need to get your notepad handy and begin jotting down YOUR explanation of things…

Step two… pray. Continually, IN THE SPIRIT. Don’t just spout off prayers. Listen to God and pray as HE dictates. It’s not really that hard; HE’S ‘dying’ to talk to you. He uses this dude, NO DISRESPECT INTENDED, called the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit fills you with a sense of… well, I think for each person the feeling/filling is different, like jelly doughnuts, I like blackberry-cream; you might like raspberry-jelly or chocolate-cream. But however He gets your attention, you ought to listen, cause He’s like, really, really smart.

Step three… keep IN THE word. This means the Holy Bible, for which there are MANY versions. Ask around. If you REALLY can’t figure out which one is a true representation of God’s word, ASK a local Pastor. Just as the Bible has been translated into many languages, each one varies slightly, but, as long as it’s not a paraphrased version calling itself THE Bible, you should be okay. (If ALL else fails to give you the sense that this is THE one God wants you to read, take the OLD King James Version and start there. Why? Because the Holy Spirit breathed this one into being a very long time ago and while some scholars believe portions were incorrectly translated, most of the time these inconsistencies are merely traditions and not the validity of God’s word. It is a good grounding Bible.)

As you keep IN the word, read God’s message daily. Online Bible Studies or Devotions are good; attending a local Bible study is better, (sometimes, occasionally these are nothing more than coffee-klatches with great doughnuts…). Weigh everything against God’s word/intention. (Sounding preachy now, aren’t I…)

Step four… SHARE what God lays on your heart and don’t worry if you look/sound foolish; people thought/think Jesus was/is a raving lunatic. (as long as they believe in the “IS”… *grin*)

Now, I believe this is what makes a person a Christian. There are lots of other nuances that appear as someone follows the word closer, gets a deeper understanding, and lives a closer relationship with God, but there are so many and to each is given different gifts so to one person it may seem as if someone else ISN’T really doing all they can because their gift is different. Some have a heart for serving the poor and living amongst them; others have the ability to earn large dollars, which they donate, to these causes. A different gift for every person, all God asks is for us to use it as HE intends and directs. (And, of course give thanks for EVERYTHING.)

Now, WHY am I telling you this?

Good question.

I just received a letter from a publisher regarding a novel of mine that is shall we say, unfinished? I have completed it, really, but it FEELS unfinished & not ready to stretch its wings yet. I don’t like the thought that, (because this is a new publisher for a new genre I’m tackling) the first read through may be the last opportunity for me to get my foot in this door.

Still, THEY contacted me. Conundrum, conundrum(And me without musical skills.)

I have a few weeks to think this over. I need to decide WHY I don’t like the characters… what is the elusive ‘thing’ that keeps them from being dimensional… For this novel, there is no beta-reader involved and I hadn’t thought I’d need one, it wasn’t/isn’t one of my ‘current’ projects, simply a bit of free-styling. I’m rambling…sorry… thinking with you as the sounding board; forgive me.

Shall I “go-for-it” and trust that the Holy Spirit led this publisher to me? (I find that a bit of a stretch…) Shall I hold back and possibly lose the best chance yet for this novel to reach and touch lives…? Shall I fix the dang thing and send it in and ask for forgiveness because they caught me unawares???

Conundrum, conundrum…

Or, is my hesitation born of the Spirit, convincing me this novel isn’t ready? Am I truly listening and hearing what God is saying?

Not a very satisfying ending…

*hugs*…

(PLEASE FORGIVE ME…AGAIN WORDPRESS IS ALLOWING ME TO POST…I HOPE… BUT NOT TO READ OR COMMENT… HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!

What is it about Christmas that you hold dear?

Is it the anticipation? Of what? Gifts? Food? Fellowship? Family? The ‘feeling’? Church services? Reaching out to others in need? Snow?

Or, maybe what you hold dear is the decorating? Putting your normal treasures away and hauling out boxes, bags and crates (possibly calling an 18-wheeler in?) Making positive the lights line up straight along the roof line? Keeping the tree in perfect symmetry and the angel straight? The train chugging round the tracks and the villagers off the floor?

Or the preparation of the treats that we only seem to bring out at Christmas, and secretly are glad; that’s what keeps them special.

Christmas traditions abound.

In one family they observe gifts Christmas Eve so they can truly focus on the Christmas meaning and not on ‘what’s in that big box with my name on it?’ (In fact, I bet lots of families do this.)

In another they open one gift Christmas Eve, to ‘quell’ the frenzy their kids are in. (I bet lots of families do this too…)

Some don’t open gifts. Not because they are poor or don’t celebrate, but rather because they choose one large family gift, a trip; a game; a computer.

Others try to break the bank filling the tree to the top with gifts that take all day to open, and everyone wonders what they received after ward.

Some spend their time serving food to the less fortunate at community kitchens or halls, for personal reasons; pious reasons or because their friends dragged them along.

To some Christmas is a painful event, tied to misery, heartache, loneliness, and they’d rather it would just go away.

To some Christmas is a Holiday Season, and they eagerly absorb all the traditions from the various events. Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice. (A following list, garnered from Wikipedia; but by no means complete, of various events celebrated in December around the globe or by various different peoples and groups.)

  • Four Sundays prior to December 25: Advent
  • Kislev (November/December) 25: Hanukkah
  • December 6: Saint Nicholas’ Day
  • December 8: Bodhi Day
  • December 13: Saint Lucy’s Day – Church Feast Day
  • December 21-22: Winter Solstice

  • December 21: Saturnalia: the Roman winter solstice festival
  • December 21-25: Pancha Ganapati
  • December 24: Christmas Eve
  • December 25: Dies Natalis Solis Invicti (Day of the birth of the Unconquered Sun)
  • December 25: Christmas
  • December 25-January 6: Twelve Days of Christmas
  • December; late – early January: Yule
  • December 25: Anastasia of Sirmium Feast Day
  • December 25: Malkh
  • December 26: Boxing Day – Gift-giving day after Christmas
  • December 26 – January 1: Kwanzaa – Pan-African festival
  • December 26: Saint Stephen’s Day
  • December 27: Saint John the Evangelist’s Day
  • December 28: Holy Innocents’ Day
  • December 31: Saint Sylvester’s Day
  • December 31: Watch Night
  • December 31: New Year’s Eve
  • December 31 – before dawn January 1: Hogmanay – Scottish New Year’s Eve
  • January 1: New Year’s Day
  • January 1: Saint Basil’s Day
  • January 5: Twelfth Night/Epiphany Eve
  • January 6: Epiphany
  • January 6: Armenian Apostolic Christmas

To some, Christmas isn’t about the one day in December, nor about the few weeks devoted to the decoration and songs. To some Christmas is a feeling they hold out all year long. Which, hope and love and compassion being those feelings; I tend to think these people have figured it out!

To me Christmas is about the day we set aside to worship THE ONE who makes Christmas possible at all. It’s not a ‘festive season’. It’s not a ‘holiday season’. It is a birthday. And should be the biggest birthday party ever celebrated. (Even if we aren’t celebrating on Jesus’ ACTUAL birthday)

I hear you. “But what if I’m (You fill in the blank)?” So? None of the other ‘celebrations’ EXISTED before ‘Christmas’, so, you should at the very least give a ‘nod’ to that which sparked your celebration. (I am voicing my opinion, I know… I tend to do that, in case you didn’t notice…)

Don’t get me wrong… I celebrate with Christmas lights, decorations, food (oh BOY! do I celebrate with food!), family (those in driving distance), friends (ditto), small gifts (we try for home made, not to be ‘perfect’, but to save money!), a Christmas Carol with Alistair Sims; and the only colourized version to be worthwhile, the version with George C. Scott. We shovel snow (if we can find any), we sing Christmas carols and drink the proverbial hot chocolate, (the adults get the adult-version).

We attend Church services on Christmas Eve and a shortened service on Christmas Day, where we (and I suspect a lot of other congregations) sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and partake of a large birthday cake! (To ease clean up, everyone supplies their own fork and cup for coffee/tea/hot chocolate, the non-adult version…)

But Christmas is what YOU make of it. If it stresses you out; why do you continue to celebrate in that environment? Why not change some traditions? Just remember, it’s called CHRISTmas for a reason…

Tomorrow (or soon): Change those traditions! Or not…

*hugs*

Is this not My Father’s house?
And Yet you are making it a Den of Thieves. (Paraphrased)

As I was praying this morning I had two profound thoughts come to me.
One:Would I sacrifice my children for God as Abraham so willingly was prepared to do?

“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

This will be studied deeper when I’m ready (or God says I’m ready.)
and Two:
Webpages are a great way to sell things. Good, bad or downright nasty.

They are an incredible source of information. We can reach millions with our ideas; words; thoughts; products. Without hardly trying.

But how many webpages have slipped into the ‘money-making’ guise? I use the term ‘guise’ because so many pages are touted as being informational; inspirational; humorous; expert advice etc…

Using a search engine, you search a term and up comes a page. Usually thousands, but only a very few actually contain what you are seeking.

You chose one of the results, click through and then spend at least a minute scanning the page for the article, wondering all the while, as you re-check the URL, “I thought it said there’d be a devotional on this…OH Here it is! Wow, that’s a lot of advertisement!”

these I will bring to my holy mountain
and give them joy in my house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and sacrifices
will be accepted on my altar;
for my house will be called
a house of prayer for all nations.

Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord.

Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’

On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”

When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be a house of prayer’; but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’

I understand as webpages grow more popular they cost more to maintain and money has to come from somewhere. So they add a dozen or so ‘stalls’ to the outside of the ‘building’ in the inner ‘courtyard’. Every click brings a penny; every purchase brings a higher percentage of the pie.

Now that little home town corner where everyone gathers to share is a little busier. The main ‘newsletter’ is somewhere on the page, usually in the form of a clickable link to yet more ‘stalls’ on the second ‘floor’, as if by clicking through you have somehow become a ‘chosen’ visitor.

But, who is that person? We’ve never seen them before.
“Oh, no, they’ve been brought in to make things run smoother; to streamline the process. they have a lot of good ideas!”

You look around for a friendly face, but there doesn’t seem to be one. Puzzled, you go back to ‘search’ and try again. Unfortunately, it rarely changes.

Again, I understand the need to earn money to pay the bill so others may enjoy your site and you can reach millions more. I really do. So does God.

A worker is worth his keep.

“Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts— no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.

I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of his people and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been the benefactor of many people, including me.

So, is it right to line our webpages with advertising? I don’t know. WHY did you start the webpage to begin with? Did you have a clear goal of earning money? or was it started as an outreach? Did you prepare the way before you opened for business, by ensuring you were under the umbrella  or did you go it on your own, hoping your ‘best intentions’ would bring approval?

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.

Does the fact that you’ve grown so large validate your ‘intentions’? Do you see the ability to earn an income via the advertisements as ‘earning’ your keep?

I don’t know. I haven’t got any of the answers; God does. What I do know is as I was in my prayer time this morning, (which, BTW, I shall be returning to shortly) I felt prompted to write this in response to hearing (reading) that my ‘chosen’ devotional site has been ‘lost’. (Something to which I can totally relate.)

They are in the process of rebuilding it, and don’t get me wrong, it is an INSPIRATIONAL devotional site. Some devotions I ponder for days, others I disagree with. That’s okay, a devotion is supposed to make you think and focus.

But as I read the words that they didn’t have a saved copy of their mailing lists or a backup of the site in its entirety, this just flowed through me and I praise God and the Holy Spirit for it. I still don’t know what to make of it. I hope and pray it reaches the person or group it is suppose to. Maybe it’s me. I don’t know.

Father you call some to be preachers some to be laymen, but all to the belief and faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you for your unfailing presence. I don’t know yet why these words and thoughts were calling so strongly that I had to put them to ‘paper’, but I trust and know You do. I pray that if they were meant for anyone in particular, they hear and understand your gentle nudge. If they were meant for me, I pray I unclog my mind and understand and listen. You are an awesome God. THE awesome God. Thank you, In Jesus’ name, amen.

Where do you seek God in the midst of a horrific, senseless tragedy?

Where was He? Didn’t He see this unstable gunman? Didn’t He anticipate his evil thoughts? Why didn’t He step in and stop this?

How can a loving God allow innocent children and adults to become the pawns in some sick person’s mind?

Sadly, a loving God allows such tragedies for His own purposes.

Many of us are crying; never having set foot in the state, county or school. We never knew these children, or their families. We never will. Our hearts still break with disbelief, shock and horror. Our tears still flood our cheeks as if everyone of those children were ours. We cry for the families and wish there was something concrete we could do for them. We wonder about our own kids and, yes, some of us have headed to our children’s schools to pull them out for the day, the week; forever!

We fear the sicko’s in this world.

There is NOTHING that will bring peace or comfort to these families. Nor the response team who has had to go through the school collecting bodies and confirming there are no more dangers lurking, ready to leap out and create panic and chaos as things are starting to settle down.

What will ease the pain, and bring some comfort is prayer. Our prayers, offered to God on behalf of those too close to have any coherent thoughts right now.

Belief in God, that, somehow He is watching and understands the pain and heartache of losing their child. He has been there. His child also suffered an unfair death. He understands. Trust in His plans; somehow, somewhere, these children’s deaths shall serve a greater purpose.

Right now, as humans we don’t care! We want our kids back.

That pain, too, shall ease. We DO care.

We just don’t want someone telling us that, “It’s okay. God has a plan.”

That will only serve to drive those teetering on the edge away. They will not seek God’s comfort and strength to guide them through this senselessness. They need Him.

Don’t ride in all sanctimonious. Crawl in; offer tissue; offer your shoulder; offer your prayers; OFFER yourself, and LISTEN. Just listen. Let their tears, their heartache, their anger bubble up and flow out. Don’t tell them it’s wrong or that time will heal their sorrow. Later, when they’re ready, God will speak with them. He will wait, and so should we.

Just offer love and LISTEN.

To the families; friends, coworkers, fellow-students, teachers and staff, and response teams I offer up a prayer. That God will hold them, comfort and protect from retribution or copy-cat killers. I pray that, although this Christmas is ruined for all involved or touched by this, I pray they will not continue to hate Christmas and it will become a centre of joy for them. For the deceased I pray God is watching over their souls. I pray the adults and those old enough to have made a decision for the Lord, have done so and they now reside comfortably in His arms. I pray this tragedy will remind us of the precariousness of life and how fleeting time is. Please, Lord, comfort those in the midst of this event. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Then I have Peter Maloney… hmmm…? my baloney (bologna) has a first name…
Who is SURE I am interested in hearing of the demise of Mr. Walker.

LETTER #2:

Hello,

My name is Peter Maloney, I am the personal lawyer of Mr. Neal Walker, an American businessman who lost his life in a plane crash on October 31, 1999. He deposited $30 Million with a bank here in the UK which nobody has claimed since. All attempts to locate any of his relatives have been unsuccessful. I and an insider with the bank have decided to look for a reliable person who is ready and willing to help claim this fund, hence this e-mail.

The plan now is for you to stand in as his relation to get this funds released to you, because the bank has just given a deadline after which the money will be declared dormant in accordance with the bank’s policy.

In return for your help, you will receive thirty percent(30%) of the total sum.

Write me back if you’re ready to work with us on this project.

Best Regards,
Peter Maloney.

A multi-millionaire who lost his life in 1999 and they can find NO ONE who wants to claim the 30-million he deposited in the UK? If I HELP him, (a bank insider and Mr. Walker’s PERSONAL & TRUSTED LAWYER???) run his SCAM I’ll get 30%…WOOHOO! That’s a lot of money! He is looking for a RELIABLE (criminal) person… and wants ME to play the (illegal) part of ‘long-lost-relative’…? I suppose looking amongst his close friends would have turned up less than reliable persons? Gotta wonder where he practises law. (Or, maybe, that’s the problem; he only PRACTISES…)(Excuse me while I giggle maniacally…) I have decided that in the interests of my side, (which aches from laughter), NOT to write him back; I am not interested in this collaborative project. (However, sign me up for the World Wide Exclusive first-run all languages movie/book rights! Heck, include the Inner and Outer Galaxy rights too! LOL)

Then I have Mrs. Lerien Namani from Cyprus. I feel badly that her husband has passed, leaving her no children. It really annoys me though, when people use God’s word to LURE the unsuspecting into a trap.

Proverbs 16:27

A scoundrel plots evil,
and on their lips it is like a scorching fire.

LETTER #3:

Dearest in the Lord,

PLEASE ENDEAVOUR TO USE IT FOR THE CHILDREN OF GOD.

I am Mrs Lerien Namani from Cyprus . I am married to Mr Marthins Namani who worked with Cyprus embassy in cote Ivoire for nine years before he died in the year 2004.We were married for eleven years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days.

Before his death we were both born again Christians. Since his death I decided not to re-marry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of (4.Million U.S. Dollars) in a fixed suspense account with one of the Bank here in Cote Ivoire presently, this money is still with the Bank so I want you to take quick step to this transfer process with the bank to transfer the money to you because, recently, my Doctor told methat I would not last for the next three months due to cancer problem. Throughwhat disturbs me most is my stroke i Having known my condition I decided todonate this fund to church or better still a Christian individual that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct here in.

I want a church that will use this to fund churches, orphanages and widows propagating the word of God and to ensure that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that blessed is the hand that give the. I took this decision because I don’t have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don’t want my husband’s hard earned money to be misused by unbelievers. I don’t want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly manner. Hence the reason for taking this bold decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace.

I don’t need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health because of the presence of my husband’s relatives around me always. I don’t want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the Bank here in Ivory Cote Ivoire Abidjan .

Hoping to hearing from you

Remain blessed in the name of the Lord.

Yours in Christ.
Mrs Lerien Namani

I know I received this particular ‘invitation’ because I receive our church’s e-mails as the bulletin editor, therefore this ‘letter’ was not addressed to me personally, but to our congregation as a whole. God warns us to be wary and watch for inconsistencies. Even Satan quoted the Bible when it suited his purpose.

Matthew 4:1-10

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendour. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”

Mrs Lerien Namani shall need to seek other players for her game, and the contact of the Bank there in Ivory Cote Ivoire Abidjan will have to wait a little longer to distribute those funds.

The last, for today…*grin*, is a notice to the ‘Online Operator’ of an ‘ACH’ (?????) (account?) has been temporarily disabled. Just click the OBVIOUSLY REAL link and it will take you to…? Good question. (I have disabled the link by altering the address.) But what I REALLY love about this ‘warning’? The salutation: “Best regards, Security Department”.
Not only DON’T they know WHO the account is held by, they don’t have a simple contact to, well, contact. I still have no idea what or who ACH is

LETTER #4:

Gotta love PHISHERS of men… (Somehow, I truly DOUBT this is what GOD had in mind when He called…)

MATTHEW 4:18-22

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.

Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

Understand, I am passing this on as a service/warning/edification purposes; for those who find these types of e-mails in their inbox and feel:

  • the need to help these ‘poor’ individuals – Proverbs 16: 33 – The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.
  • the need to respond, informing these ‘poor individuals’ they have reached the wrong person – 1 Cor. 12:4-11 – There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines. (IE: leave it to the professionals.)
  • the greed that, maybe, just maybe, it’s real. (IT AIN’T AND AIN’T NEVER GONNA BE) Proverbs 16:19 – Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed; than to share plunder with the proud.
  • the fear that someone HAS gotten hold of their financial details and without thinking, rush forward clicking links and filling in information until, yup, now the criminal DOES have your banking information… JOB 3:25 – What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me.

Sorry to lump people together in a tidy box, (cause we all know were unique, just like everybody else…) but it is the elderly; the lonely; the bullied; the lost, who fall prey to these scams. WE need to watch out for them, be that angel-on-the-shoulder keeping our friends and family and greater community from falling for these plots to relieve them of what God has given them.

Please Father God, watch over the waywardness of the great tool called the internet. Help to protect Your children and guide us away from evil. Remind us to pray before clicking on links that are suspicious without making us fearful and doubtful of everything. (Proverbs 3:6 – in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.) Keep us free from the sticky threads in the web and lead us to the narrow path safely. Remind us to check in on friends and family we haven’t heard from in a while, and to make time to stop by the widow’s on the corner to see if she needs anything while were out. Or if we can just bother her for a cup of tea, a biscuit and a chance to put our feet up and find out how her great-great grandchildren are. Let us be bold and speak out against evil, that we and others may learn to recognise it and run from it. Blessed be the name of The Lord! I ask in Jesus name. Amen.

Nope, not a misspelling… yet, lol.

My bi-polar is in full swing today folks.

I do apologise; mostly because I WANT to let the angry-side take over. It is so unbelievably frustrating for me to live in a household full of adults who can’t seem to follow a few freakin’ rules. I can feel my blood pressure boiling and pulsing right now I am so angry. And, YES, I actually want to STAY angry. Sometimes a righteous anger is cleansing.

Note Jesus when he came to the temple and it was NOT being used as a house of worship, but a common trading store. His righteous anger boiled and he ‘chased them with whips’.

MATTHEW 21:10-14 – N.I.V.
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”

MARK 11:15-17 – N.I.V.

JOHN 2:15-17 – N.I.V.
When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.” (bold & italics MINE.)

Do I feel MY anger is as justifiable as Jesus’? Err, no. And YES!

It is justifiable, but I should still release the hurt, pain and frustration I feel when people, (close family relations) ignore or subvert my efforts. I should. But I’m not Jesus, so I have to go on my knees and ask Him to release the grip Satan is trying to establish over me (and I am willing to let consume me). It’s a struggle, battling the WANT to knock their heads together and the URGE to toss those dishes they left scattered all over the house at them as they sleep.

But, by the GRACE OF GOD, I can find my happy spot. It doesn’t mean the anger and frustration is gone. It just means, that BECAUSE I can speak to God and hand this to Him, asking for His Spirit to forgive ME for my anger and to help me FORGIVE their lazy, ungrateful butts, I will not sit and stew all day. I GIVE it to God daily and He will change my attitude towards their constant ignoring of my requests.

EPHESIANS 4:26-27 – N.I.V.
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.

This is so true. Sleeping with anger will cause a restless night and anxious days. GIVE IT TO THE LORD! Then, stop taking it back! Let the Lord deal with it. Just continue to praise Him and wait on HIS deliverance. Continuing to rant and rave will only cause ulcers and baldness. Justifiable anger is good. People NEED to know when they’ve ticked you off, even if it’s YOUR problem. But harbouring or gloating over your rage isn’t God’s way. Complaining and moaning to those who are outside of the situation only adds fuel to the misery. (It does clear your mind, though, as long as you SHARE your misery, NOT wallow in it!)

EPHESIANS 4:29-32 – N.I.V.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Dear Lord, I ask that You take my frustration and heal it. Close the festering wounds that I allow to open and that drives the infection deeper; cleanse me from my anger. Let Your Spirit wash over and renew mine that I may be more effective for Your kingdom. Be with all who chance to read this and remind them to release their problems to You so that You can add the freedom that comes from having the hurt, anguish, frustration, pain, misery; lifted and the peace from knowing someone else will be taking care of the difficulty; working behind the scenes. I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

JOHN 14:14-16 – N.I.V.
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. “If you love me, keep my commands.

JOHN 16:22-24 – N.I.V
So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

*happier now; Praise God*
